Co-operations of the ILT

The Institute of Air Transportation Systems maintains several co-operations with industry, research organizations and academia. Prime goal is to create synergies between research and teaching. In addition to joint project work, co-operation frequently includes exchange of students and research staff.

DLR is the national aerospace research organization of Germany. The mission of DLR comprises of exploration of earth and universe, research on environmental friendly technologies, research for increased mobility as well as for enhanced communication and safety/security. The DLR-Institute of Air Transportation System and the TUHH-Institute of Air Transportation System operate as a joint organization.

Airbus is the major European aircraft manufacturer with sites in Germany, France, Spain and UK. The TUHH-Institute of Air Transportation cooperates in joint projects with the Airbus Future Project Office in Hamburg in the fields of technology assessment and aircraft design and with the Cabin Innovation Center Hamburg within the context of the lecture »Scenario Technique«.

Deutsche Lufthansa is on of the largest commercial airlines worldwide. The TUHH-Institute of Air Transportation Systems cooperates with the Lufthansa airline branch as well as the Lufthansa Technik maintenance repair and overhaul branch. Lufthansa representatives are part of the lecture series »Operational Aspects of Transport Aircraft«. Joint projects are either funded via the National Aeronautic Research Program or via the Hamburg Spitzencluster.
