In case you are interested in one of the topics, please contact the correspondent research assistant. Please state what motivates you to write a thesis about this particular topic and indicate previous knowledge (like lectures of our institute you already attended) if available. In the following figure you can see the process of your master thesis at our institute.

We are also encouraging our students to submit own research proposals for a project work or a Master’s thesis. In this case, please send an application to a research assistant with a corresponding research field. We particularly seek to work together with companies as long as the thesis has a scientific research question and academic requirements are met during the process. Please send your application for a thesis in cooperation with a company to Dr. Stephan Buse, deputy director of TIM.

The application for a research proposal (for an individual application or in cooperation with a company) should include the goal of the thesis, possible research questions and your motivation for starting this thesis. If the research is done with a company, please incorporate the contact person within the company and the expected timeframe.
