The world is suffering the beginning of a “World water crisis�. Many regions of the world are concerned and some are specifically endangered. The imbalance between water consumption through use and recharge of natural surface water (withdrawal) have sharply increased. The figure below shows clearly that Asia, Europe, and Northamerica already have this imbalance. It will increase in the coming decades, if nothing is done against it.
