Bio: Norbert Hoffmann holds degrees in physics, mechanical engineering and economics from the universities Erlangen-Nürnberg, Bayreuth, Stuttgart and Hagen. He worked in industry before joining Hamburg University of Technology. He was also Professor of Machine Dynamics in Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College London and Director of the Imperial College based Rolls-Royce Vibration University Technology Centre.
